Altenau Winter Market
The Altenau winter market in the market garden awaits visitors from 21 December to 31 December 2024 from 2 pm to 8 pm. Look forward to festive stalls, pre-Christmas music and the big New Year's Eve party with DJ! With its small decorated wooden stalls and a replica of the St. Nikolai church as a Christmas stand, the traditional winter market in the mountain town of Altenau invites you to visit from 21 to 31 December. Every day from 14:00 to 20:00, a varied programme is offered with mulled wine and sweets.
On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the Janitscharen band performs the traditional serenade at 4.00 pm and on 31 December from 9.00 pm to 1.00 am, the popular open-air New Year's Eve party takes place. A highlight on New Year's Eve is the traditional torchlight hike with the HZV Altenau. The hike starts at 9.30 pm at the HZV Altenau hiking meeting point at the bus car park and ends at around 11.00 pm at the starting point. Torches can be purchased on site for a fee.
