HATIX - The Harz holiday ticket makes you mobile

Explore the Harz Mountains by bus

Would you like to travel through the Harz Mountains free of charge and always be mobile - all over the place? You can do this very conveniently with the Harz holiday ticket HATIX. And it's so easy: as an overnight guest, you will receive the guest card when you arrive. Since 1 January 2020, it has also been valid as your free bus ticket on many routes for the duration of your stay with us. Simply use it to explore the Harz region by public transport and do something good for the environment at the same time.

The free Harz holiday ticket is ideal for visiting the neighbouring villages, for example, or for reaching the most beautiful hiking destinations and hotspots in the area. At the same time, you protect the environment, as you can leave your own car parked and don't have to stress about finding a parking space. The HATIX is not valid on Deutsche Bahn AG routes and on the Harz narrow-gauge railways as well as on special buses, call-collecting taxis and call-line taxis.

How HATIX works

  • After arriving at your Harz holiday destination, you pay the guest contribution to your host and then receive the registration form with the corresponding HATIX ticket. Please note that the ticket is only valid in conjunction with the registration form.
  • The ticket is valid until your departure from the Harz Mountains (including the day of departure). It is important that the registration form is completed in full and that the exact date of arrival and departure and the number of people travelling with you are noted.
  • The person named on the HATIX must be in the vehicle in person (also for groups) and carry a valid photo ID. The ticket is not transferable.
  • The HATIX is valid on all public bus and tram lines in the Harz district and on selected VGS lines in the Mansfeld-Südharz district. From 1 January 2020, it will also be valid in the districts of Goslar and Göttingen (old district of Osterode). Special buses, shared taxis, DB Regio, Veolia Verkehr and the Harz narrow-gauge railway are excluded.
  • Animals are not included in the HATIX. They are subject to the normal conditions of carriage of the respective transport company.
